The Director, Jonathan Ball, holds a Bachelors degree in Ecology, a Masters in Forestry Business Management and a PhD relating to Bioregionalism. In addition he has worked on projects as diverse as goat and camel herding in Turkmenistan, grazing and trampling impacts in the Scottish Highlands, freshwater pearl mussels, urban greenspace and many EIAs. This is experience he can bring when undertaking GIS on your project.
Jonathan is a highly experienced GIS professional. He was previously Manager of commercial GIS consultancy for The Macaulay Institute (Aberdeen), Manager of GIS for Realtime Worlds Inc. and Enertrag UK prior to founding MappaGnosis. Jonathan has GIS experience in areas such as forestry, rivers, farming, renewable energy and planning.
Jonathan has worked on win farm projects for Councils, SNH, CCW, private land owners and developers. MappaGnosis provides a broad range of desk-services including cartography, ZVI, indicative noise assessments, swept path analysis, shadow-flicker analysis and 3D modelling.
